Join CREW-LA to learn about what happens during the course of a Commercial Escrow and what to look for when you are reviewing a Preliminary Title Report.

Presented by industry veterans Amy Hiraheta, VP ORNTIC and Senior National Commercial Escrow Officer with Old Republic Title and Cathy May, Developer Services and Major Accounts with Old Republic Title, you will learn everything from the basics of reading a preliminary report to the ins-and-outs of what to expect in escrow and step-by-step instructions on how to prepare for a smooth process. 


Amy D. Hiraheta has 39 years of experience in the title industry and specializes in commercial escrow. Amy has a diverse knowledge of the industry having held positions as a poster, searcher, examiner, national title coordinator, senior escrow officer and escrow manager for both independent escrow companies and title insurance companies. She has coordinated and performed complex closings for both single and multi-site transactions in many sectors of the commercial market. 

Amy is the mother of six children; five girls and one boy. She is a devout Christian who travels regularly to Latin America on missions. Amy enjoys the outdoors, camping and traveling. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and has a working knowledge of French. Amy is detail oriented and focused on her goal of being accessible to her customers and providing service that is proactive and tailored for each and every transaction.

Cathy May has been in the real estate services business for 37 years. She was the principal of a South Bay developer services processing business for 17 years, specifically assisting developers and subdividers with due diligence and project approvals. She has spoken before the California Land Surveyors Association and Building Industry Association. She was on the Los Angeles County Assessor's advisory Committee and authored Property Tax Segregation and was the editor of the Subdivision Manual for the Developer, both published by Chicago Title.

As a major account representative at Old Republic Tittle, Cathy offers her clients her vast experience and a perspective the embraces the ever-changing development landscape and the time fundamentals of successful development.
